European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes is an international non-governmental organisation, independent and non-profit making. It was founded in 1975. At present EADI’s membership covers around 220 institutions and 160 individual members in 27 European countries. EADI’s purpose is to promote development research and training activities in economic. social, cultural, technological, institutional and ecological areas. The specific aims are: To stimulate the exchange of information between European researchers concerned with development issues; To promote interdisciplinary studies on specific themes and to encourage cooperation between researchers and institute members; To assure contacts and collaboration with researchers from other regions of the world.
