The International Academy of Ceramics is a non-profit organisation, its headquarters are located at the Ariana Museum in Geneva. its purpose is to encourage cultural cooperation among ceramists throughout the world and to facilitate communication between ceramists and museum curators, experts, connoisseurs, collectors, lovers of ceramics, cultural institutions and associations interested in the promotion of ceramic art. Since its establishment in 1953 by Henry J. Reynaud, the aims of the Academy have changed. Since 1959, the desire to become more active has prompted its members to press for international projects and it has therefore organised various exhibitions and seminars, many of them held in conjunction with the general assemblies.
