The International Council of Voluntary Agencies is an independent, international association not-for-profit, non-governmental organisations active in the fields of humanitarian assistance and development cooperation. Established in 1962 to promote the development of voluntary agencies, ICVA today provides a permanent international liaison structure for voluntary agency consultation and cooperation. ICVA’s membership is drawn from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and Europe, and its members are secular, Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, Protestant and Roman Catholic.
