The overall concern of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (IFBPW) has always been the empowerment of women so that they may gain economic independence and fully participate in the society in which they live. Programs always stress employment, management, and entrepreneurship; equal opportunities for training, equal access to jobs and to credit. Because the women's movement has its roots in ending conflicts, the need for women today to build a more just and peaceful world is a part of all discussions.
