Through the activities of the Aga Khan Development Network, His Highness The Aga Khan is committed to support human development in societies in which Muslims have a significant presences. The Aga Khan Trust for Culture has been formed,as an integral part of the Development Network, to address these issues, primarily through consideration of the built environment, to foster a deeper understanding of its role in the culture and development of Muslim societies in the world today.
The Trust focuses on the built environment in the belief that buildings and urban spaces of quality and their aggregation as city form are an important repository for culture. They can also enlarge contemporary human opportunity and the quality of life for all generations.
