The Air Transport Action Group was formed in 1990 by IATA with the support of Airbus Industries and Boeing Commercial Airplane Group to press for aviation infrastructure improvements world wide. In 1996, ATAG had 90 member organisations including airlines, manufacturers, airport operators, travel agents, tour operators, trade unions, consumers associations, chambers of commerce, banks and tourism associations. ATAG actively supports the expansion and development of air traffic control capabilities, airport capacity and surface access to meet forecast growth.
